What is an 'Epidural' ?

Epidural is another regional block usually used for pain relief in surgeries of chest, abdomen and lower half of the body.
Epidurals can take up to half an hour to work but can be used to relieve pain for hours and sometimes days after your operation. They can be topped up through a fine plastic tube inserted into your back.
